Are You Being "Spam Filtered" From A New Job?

Suggestion #1
As a job seeker ....make it a habit to check your SPAM and TRASH FOLDERS.... AT LEAST ONCE A DAY!

Suggestion #2

Job Seekers: Double check your e-mail settings ...

BEFORE starting your job search

I've noticed a sharp increase in "un-delivered" e-mail messages. With the heightened focus on making our lives more "SPAM FREE", unfortunately for the job seeker, this is creating problems. When a job agent or employer is unable to reach you by e-mail you may have just missed another job interview! I'm seeing it every day. It's frustrating to have so many deserving candidates missing out on employment opportunites.

Conclusion: Be aware that due to "overly aggressive spam filtering settings" it is best to check and become familiar with your e-mail options. REMEMBER as a job seeker..... your priorities have changed. You may now want to actually hear from Company ABZ . Whereas before as a "gainfully employed person"... the spam filter was a useful tool, to help block out e-mail ads from Company ABZ.

Tip: Use a FREE Gmail Address

I suggest signing up for a free Gmail account especially if you want a reply from me. Although you still have to make it a habit to check your spam folder regularly, gmail appears to be the best solution, to date.
I've had the most difficulty sending APPLICATION FORMS from Surejobsnetwork.com to: AOL, hotmail, msn and yahoo accounts.

HOTMAIL USERS:
Before continuing it is important to note: Your 'JUNK FOLDER" is located in the window to your LEFT below "Inbox". Do Not...I repeat DO NOT click on the Junk displayed at the top of the page . I find this poor design by Hotmail can be confusing to new users and may also damage the reputations of innocent businesses.
Three Things to Check:
1.Check your E-Mail Options Settings Incorrect settings can immediately delete e-mail you may want to read! If your options are set to receive messages from only your personal contacts.... EVERYTHING ELSE may be recognized as "junk mail" or "spam" and become IMMEDIATELY DELETED! I urge you to check your e-mail settings carefully and frequently. Otherwise, your job search could be affected by those improper settings!

2. Check your Junk Folders on a regular basis ... daily if possible. In some cases you may only have 10 days before your "Junk Mail" is permanently DELETED. With the internet focused on reducing junk e-mail and spam, we are left to the mercy of machines to decide for us... what is "good mail" or "bad mail." Unfortunately for the jobseeker, this is resulting in lost job opportunities.

3. Add the addresses or URL's of potential agencies and employers to your CONTACTS listing as soon as possible,so that future messages will arrive in your regular mail...and not in your junk folder.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step by Step: Changes to Options
Below are settings from my hotmail account, but since versions vary.. use this is only for a rough guide.
For Hotmail Users
1.Click on "OPTIONS" ...........located on the top,right-hand corner of the screen
2. Go to the bottom of the page and click on 'MORE OPTIONS"
3. On the OPTIONS PAGE you will see:

JUNK E-MAIL Filters and reporting
Select the filter level you want to apply to incoming messages:
I recommend you select: LOW

Delete junk e-mail
I recommend you select: LATER (this gives you 10 days before deletion) *

Report junk messages
I recommend: DON'T REPORT

SAFE AND BLOCKED SENDERS

Under Safe sender:
ADD : surejobsnetwork.com
ADD: adachi.ca
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IN SUMMARY: It's important to note that UNLESS an address has been added to your SAFE Sender list...YOU MUST CHECK YOUR JUNK MAIL ON A REGULAR BASIS.
While you are looking for a new job , I highly recommend making it a habit to check your junk and spam folders....EVERY DAY and of course double check that the" delete junk e-mail" is set to LATER. which gives you 10 days before deletion!
